Great American Reserve Insurance Company filed an interpleader suit in district court naming as defendants the insured's ex-wife, Violet Sanders, and surviving widow, Jessie Sanders. The petition also named Hill Metropolitan Funeral Directors, Inc. because of an assignment to it by Violet Sanders for part of the insurance proceeds to cover the insured's funeral expenses.
