Defendant was convicted, after a jury trial, of the crimes of possession of a weapon as a felony (Penal Law, § 265.05, subd 3, renumbered by L 1974, ch 1041 as § 265.01, subd [1] and § 265.02, subd [1]) and criminal possession of a dangerous drug in the sixth degree (former Penal Law, § 220.05).
