Pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statutes 48:441 et seq., plaintiff Department of Highways expropriated a strip of land varying from 37 to 47 feet deep across the 100-foot front of a lot owned by defendant and situated on the corner of Cooper Avenue and U.S. Highway 167 in the Town of Jonesboro, Louisiana.
