SUGG, Justice:

John Lay, Jr., was convicted in the Circuit Court of the First Judicial District of Hinds County for the unlawful sale of heroin and was sentenced to serve a term of sixty years in the Mississippi State Penitentiary.

Lay sold one pound of heroin to a federal narcotics agent for $10,000. He was arrested at the place of the sale only seconds after the transaction was completed, and the $10,000 was recovered from Lay's possession. No evidence was...
