Appellant was found guilty of assault with intent to kill C. E. Faris, a marshal of Strong. The incidents on which the charge was based occurred on July 22, 1973. The trial was on June 12, 1974. On the eve of trial, appellant, a negro, filed a motion to quash the jury panel, the names on the master jury list, and the "names now contained in the jury box," and to appoint a new jury commission.
