Tried by a Suffolk County jury upon an indictment for first degree murder, the defendant was found guilty of murder in the second degree and sentenced to imprisonment for life. On this appeal subject to G.L.c. 278, §§ 33A-33G, assignments of error upon timely exceptions attack the trial judge's denial of motions for production of grand jury minutes and for a directed verdict.
