On May 30, 1971, at about 1:40 P.M., claimant George Amisano was operating his automobile in an easterly direction on Route 6 in Westchester County near an entrance to the Taconic State Parkway. His wife, the other claimant, was a passenger in the vehicle. The highway at the scene was concrete, four lanes wide and separated by a mall.
