Mr. JUSTICE THOMAS J. MORAN delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant was indicted on two counts of aggravated battery and one count of attempt murder. Pursuant to agreement, defendant pled guilty to one count of aggravated battery and was sentenced to a term of 3 1/3 to 20 years in the penitentiary.

On appeal, defendant contends that (1) the trial court failed to adequately inform him of the nature of the charge against him...
