ROBERTS, Chief Justice.

This a civil action brought to recover the proceeds of a contract of insurance entered into by William F. Goucher, Jr., with the defendant, John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. The plaintiff, Mary A. Goucher, wife of the insured, was the named beneficiary.
