Hamilton was put to trial upon a two count indictment charging (1) grand larceny and (2) buying, receiving and concealing stolen property. The property involved in this case was a 1966 two-door Cadillac convertible automobile. At arraigment, attended by court-appointed counsel, he pleaded not guilty. He was convicted under the grand larceny count and the court sentenced him to three years imprisonment in the penitentiary. At the time he was sentenced...
