The claimant, Jerome Toussaint, filed a claim for benefits under the Workmen's Occupational Diseases Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1969, ch. 48, par. 172.36 et seq.) alleging that he had contracted cirrhosis of the liver in the course of his employment as a painter for Cook County.
