On July 31, 1968, the State, pursuant to section 30 of the Highway Law, appropriated 26,649 square feet in fee and 1,941 square feet for a permanent easement of a vacant lot owned by claimant. The property was located in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County and consisted of 2.818 acres or 122,752 square feet before the appropriation. The parcel had a frontage of 466 feet on Sunrise Highway.
