On August 13, 1969, plaintiff, Rachael E. Brown, applied for a policy of insurance with defendant, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, on the life of her granddaughter, Caroline A. Brown. Pursuant to this application, a policy was issued on September 1, 1969, in which plaintiff was named beneficiary.
