On June 14, 1972, petitioner, John W. Saunders, was convicted by the Circuit Court of Henrico County of distributing a controlled drug and was sentenced to serve fifteen years in the State Penitentiary with eight years suspended. He filed a petition for a writ of error, which was refused by this court on February 5, 1973. Thereafter, he filed in this court his original petition for a writ of habeas corpus.
