Plaintiff, Leatha Hawkins, brought suit for personal injuries sustained by her when she fell through the bedroom floor of certain premises she was leasing from the defendant, Abraham Clark. The premises were rented on a month-to-month basis from the defendant-owner-lossor of the property.
