The respondent, Joseph B. Bott (hereinafter the defendant), was charged by information filed in the municipal court of the city of Kansas City (hereinafter the city), with careless driving in violation of a municipal ordinance.1 He was tried in that court without a jury, found not guilty, and ordered discharged.
