John K. McGuire, joined by his wife, Elaine McGuire, brought this action seeking judgment declaring a promissory note executed by them in the original amount of $4,000, held by J. M. Bogard, to have been paid and to have the real estate mortgage given to secure the note cancelled. Bogard denied the full amount of the note had been paid and filed a reconventional demand seeking judgment against plaintiffs for the sum of $1,000, plus interest, the balance...
