On May 12, 1972, a log cabin which had been donated to the Grant County Historical Society, known as "Splawn Log Cabin," located near the city of Soap Lake, Washington, was destroyed by fire. On June 6, 1973, several persons testified before a special inquiry judge about the circumstances of the fire.
