Plaintiff below, A. F. Briggs Co. (Briggs), a Maine corporation, brought an action for breach of warranty against defendant Starrett Corporation (Starrett), a Florida corporation. The Superior Court (Cumberland County) dismissed plaintiff's complaint on the grounds that the defendant lacked "minimal contacts" with the State of Maine and that the exercise of jurisdiction over defendant would offend due process of law.
