Plaintiff-appellee Harvey Asher, a 16 year old high school student, suffered a severe cut on his right hand while using a ten inch bench saw in shop class. His complaint against the defendant-appellant school district (school) alleged that his injuries were caused by the negligence of the school in installing and maintaining the saw.
