Plaintiff, L. J. Wood, was injured when the automobile in which he was riding as a passenger collided with a wooden barricade on a segment of Interstate Highway 20 between Start and Rayville in the early morning of October 9, 1970. Plaintiff sued the Louisiana Department of Highways which erected and maintained the barricade. The Department answered denying liability and, alternatively, pleading plaintiff...
