The defendant was charged by information with the crimes of possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, resisting an officer with violence to his person and assault and battery on the officer. Upon non-jury trial the defendant was found guilty of all four counts and was so adjudged and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of eight years in the state penitentiary.
