Caesar Nelson, together with two co-defendants, Henry Dorsey and William Alexander, were charged and convicted in Philadelphia's Municipal Court of bribing and conspiring to bribe members of the vice squad of the Philadelphia Police Department, specifically, police officer Richard Byrd.
