Percy Harris and Harvey Page, the defendants, were convicted of theft of an automobile (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1969, ch. 38, par. 16-1) after a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County. Harris was sentenced to four years probation, the first nine months of which were ordered to be served in the House of Correction, and Page was sentenced to a term of not less than one year nor more...
