On June 26, 1972, defendant-appellant, Michael H. Goodman, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of burglary in violation of section 19-1 of the Criminal Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 38, par. 19-1). A sentencing hearing was held on August 4, 1972, at which time probation was denied and defendant was sentenced to 1 to 6 years' imprisonment.
