Jefferson Winston Weeder was indicted by the Grand Jury of Prince George's County for robbery, larceny, a perverted sex act and assault and battery. A plea of not guilty by reason of insanity under Md. Ann. Code Art. 59, § 25 (b), Md. Rule 720, was entered on behalf of Weeder, and he was referred to the Clifton T. Perkins State Hospital.
