DENECKE, Justice.

A jury awarded the plaintiff damages for personal injuries sustained in an automobile collision. The defendant appeals, contending the trial court should have granted his motion for an involuntary nonsuit upon the ground the plaintiff was contributorily negligent as a matter of law. The collision occurred before the effective date of the comparative negligence statute.
