Appellant Renner was charged in a 37-count indictment with the offenses of making false and fictitious statements to the effect that he was not under indictment for a state court felony charge, in connection with his acquisition of firearms, and with the offenses of knowingly receiving and possessing firearms when he knew he was under such indictment for a felony, all in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(a) (6) and 922(h) (1).
