Arthur Burrell was convicted by a jury of knowingly filing false income tax returns in 1967 and 1968 in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7206(1)1 and of attempted income tax evasion for 1968 in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7201.2 He was sentenced to concurrent terms of six months to be served in a jail-type institution followed by three years probation.
