The principal issue in this appeal concerns the impact of Kusper v. Pontikes, ___ U.S. ___, 38 L.Ed.2d 260, 94 S.Ct. 303, upon the Illinois statutory restrictions against changes in political party affiliation by voters (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 46, par. 7-43(d)), by signers of nominating petitions for primary elections and by candidates
