On November 5, 1964, plaintiff-appellant Morrison-Knudsen ("M-K") entered into a construction contract with the State of Alaska to perform work at the Sitka Airport on Japonski Island. A claim for additional compensation arising out of the contract evolved into a nonjury trial lasting seven days in the superior court.
