On June 14, 1971, Peter Xerakis, a citizen of Greece, was a forty-threeyear-old merchant seaman aboard the Greek flag ship, SS "Queen Anna Maria," from which he jumped into the Hudson River and drowned as the vessel was departing from the port of New York. He left surviving him a widow and two minor children in Greece. On March 30, 1973, in her native land, Greece, plaintiff commenced an action in the Court...
