Petitioner, a state prisoner, seeks habeas corpus relief from detention pursuant to a judgment of the Circuit Court of Sussex County, Virginia, on May 28, 1971, wherein he was sentenced to serve a term of twenty years in the state penitentiary after having been convicted of murder in the second degree.
