Defendant first argues that the trial court erred in allowing Officer Lynch to testify as to the status of defendant's driver's license from a source other than the records of the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. It is defendant's contention that the court should have required compliance with the provisions of G.S. § 8-35 and G.S. § 20-42(b) since those statutes govern proper authentication and admissibility of driving records...
