Plaintiff William Austin Newell was employed by Boland Machine and Manufacturing Company, Incorporated, in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a welder. On or about September 26, 1968, he alleges he was injured in the course and scope of his employment, suffering a double hernia while assisting a co-worker in lifting a steel door.
