Donald John Van Pelt, referred to hereinafter as the defendant, was indicted by a grand jury of Rock Island County for the crime of armed robbery. After trial by jury the defendant was found to be guilty and he was sentenced to a term of not less than 10 nor more than 30 years in the penitentiary.
