This appeal from a conviction for second-degree murder presents several issues. The most viable is a constitutional challenge to a search of Mr. White Eagle's van. We hold that the admission of the fruits of that search was harmless error.

The relevant facts are these. The defendant, Frank White Eagle, the victim, Theresa Ganuelas, and three friends, Jan Wilson, Leon Rattler, and Phillip Daugherty, were staying at a house in the Nisqually Valley...
