This is an appeal from a conviction in a bench trial of the misdemeanor offense of leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injuries in violation of section 11-401(a) of the Vehicle Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 95 1/2, sec. 11-401(a)) and from a sentence imposed of 9 months' incarceration in the State Penal Farm.
