OWENS, District Judge:

The petitioner by this petition for writ of habeas corpus attacks the life sentence he is presently serving in the Georgia State Prison at Reidsville, Georgia. He received this life sentence on January 21, 1948, in the Baldwin County Superior Court following a plea of guilty to an indictment for murder.

Mrs. Emma Lou Wray, the wife of the petitioner, died on Sunday, January 18, 1948. A coroner...
