On April 13, 1972, with an initial cash deposit of $200, Harriet Clifford opened a checking account with the First National Bank of Miami, plaintiff-appellee. On April 21, a deposit of $125,000 was made in the form of a check purportedly drawn by the Apple Canyon Company of Hanover, Illinois, on the Elizabeth State Bank of Elizabeth, Illinois.
