The defendant, Vernon Lee Patton, Jr., was charged with ticket scalping in violation of section 1 1/2 of "An Act in relation to the sale of tickets to certain places of entertainment or amusement." (Approved June 30, 1923; as amended July 5, 1935.) This act is commonly referred to as the "Ticket Scalping Act." (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 121 1/2, par. 157.32.)
