By information filed in the Superior Court of Kern County, appellant, Richard Page Harris, was accused of issuing two checks totaling more than $100 in violation of section 476a of the Penal Code, a felony; section 476a provides for the punishment of: "Any person who for himself ..., willfully, with intent to defraud, makes or draws or utters or delivers any check, or draft or order upon any bank ... for the payment...
