INGRAHAM, Circuit Judge:

Appellant Leonard Williams was convicted by a jury of violating 18 U.S.C. § 23131 in connection with his purchase of a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III. The primary issue on appeal is whether the trial court committed prejudicial error in its instructions to the jury. Having concluded that such error is present, we reverse appellant's conviction and remand for a new trial.
