On March 28, 1972, petitioner James M. Nance was convicted of robbery in the Circuit Court of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Petitioner was sentenced to a term of twenty years in the Virginia State Penitentiary, and is at present in the custody of respondent. Following his conviction, petitioner by court-appointed counsel filed a petition for a writ of error in the Supreme Court of Virginia, which court rejected...
