Our present concern is a three-quarter acre lot (the property) in the town of Elkridge, once a prosperous port of entry. Looking at it today, however, one finds it hard to believe that eighteenth century planters were able to load their tobacco aboard the seagoing sailing ships docked along its waterfront.
