Platoro Limited, Inc., an Indiana corporation, brought this suit in a cause of salvage, civil and maritime, against the unidentified remains of a vessel, her cargo, apparel, tackle and furniture on August 6, 1969. The plaintiff-salvors had located the remains of Spanish vessels, which sank during a hurricane in the year 1554, off the shores of historic Padre Island, located in the Gulf of Mexico.
