These five separate applications for writs of habeas corpus were heard together. The questions raised by each are common to all.

Cromwell was adjudged a youthful offender arising out of a felony charge. He was sentenced to the New York City Reformatory. After a stay approximating 11 months, he was paroled. Somewhat less than two years later he was rearrested, charged and convicted. By reason...
