This assumpsit-trespass action is now before the court for disposition on the motion for summary judgment by only the defendant, General Electric Company (herein "G.E.").

The purpose of a motion for summary judgment under Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure 1035 is to expedite the disposition of a case. The rule states:
