In 1964, plaintiff Elaine Patterson (now known as Elaine Patterson Costello) obtained an interlocutory decree of divorce awarding her, among other property, a one-half interest in her husband's account with defendant McDonnell Douglas Corporation's Salaried Employees Pension Plan.
