The defendants were separately indicted for armed robbery while masked and for assault with intent to murder, tried under the provisions of G.L.c. 278, §§ 33A-33G, and convicted by a jury on each indictment. They have assigned the following as error: by Fillippini, the denial of his motion for a psychiatric examination of a prosecution witness; by both defendants, the admission of testimony concerning footprints found in the vicinity of the robber...
